Yes. I was skeptical at first especially with the claim that the Army uses these as antenna/mud flaps on their vehicles. With an older "powered for amplification" antenna, I received less channels than with this antenna.

If the issue is terrain or blockage related upgrading to a different antenna wouldn't resolve the issue I'm afraid. Reach out to the manufacture to get a channel scan for expert advice!
