“Hi! I was told by Spectrum that I need a docsis3.0 24x8 modem ... will this work well with Spectrum then? I was originally looking at the MG7700 and Spectrum didn't recommend that one because it didn't support docsis3.0 24x8 or something.. Thanks!”

You need Docsis 3.0 to mee.t the speed of the ISP. If you do not get this version you will have issues. You could also get the 3.1 version of DOCSIS
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Two issues here; 1, Unless you have ISP provided internet phone service, do not spend the extra money for a unit that has a VIOP modem. You only need a modem and a router. 2, A modem with less channels still works, just will not give you the speed you pay for without having higher number of channels. The modem "channel bonds" to open up to the maximum channels the IPS provides (32 download, 8 upload max). 32x8 is the best, likely get more in your tier for speed, 24x8 is very good and will give you your tier speed, would not go below to a 16x4, unless you are only paying for low end service, like 50Mbps.
