I replaced my Xfinity modem a month ago with the MT7711 and am so glad I did. It functions like the old one and I get 3 to 4 times faster download speeds. Plus, I don't get billed monthly for rental. After I powered the new one up and connected all the cables, I called Xfinity help and was connected to a technician who talked me through all of the neccesary steps to get it working in my house. The set up took abut 40 minutes. I have same phone service, WiFi, internet connection through the Comcast cable, and my home network. I say go for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We're currently have Xfinity Triple Play bundle and the Motorola MT7711 modem/router is capable of accepting this type type of service from Xfinity with no problem. Just have to follow the included instructions to register this gateway with Xfinity and you'll be up and running in no time, and out of renting their wireless gateway. (Which saves us $14 a month) The back of the router has (4) LAN port for wired networking and (2) phone line ports as well. We live in a 1,600 sq. ft. home and it covers our WI-FI area fairly decent and notice our speed test results increased in MBps significantly overall. We are very pleased with this gateway.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is a fairly simple setup. Reuse all your passwords and settings from the previous router and it should be seamless. If you try to change things it gets more complicated as that side of the setup is not intuitive.
