Can someone please confirm that it will take 30 second to trigger the alarm and there's no software or hardware can change the setting? I just find that hard to believe. Thanks. null

The Nest Secure has a customizable range from 30 seconds to 5 minutes before the alarm will sound. Once a door or window is opened while in Home and Guarding or Away and Guarding, you’ll receive a heads up on the Nest Guard and the countdown will begin before the alarm goes off.

Yes, I returned this $500 paperweight for that very reason. There are no options to change that "Feature" (as they call it), and after speaking with a senior advisor at Nest Support, he said there are no plans to change that.

Choose your alarm countdown.
Nest Secure gives you from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to arm and disarm before the alarm goes off. Choose how much time you’d like in Settings.

I can confirm the settings are 30 sec, 45 sec, 1 min, 3 min, and 5 min. This can be set in the Nest app under Alarm Options in Settings for the Nest Secure.

Yes, that is currently the case. However, Nest is working on an update that would give an option for no delay time.

Hi!

That is Incorrect.

There's a setting in the app for "When Coming Home" and "When Leaving Home". Both of these settings can be set to the following values: 30 s, 45s, 1m, 3m, 5m.
