Does this extender need to be next to the wireless modem and router? Can I put it far away from it? Or does this replace the wireless router they gave? null

Placed about half way between router and dead spots. It relays the signal by picking it up and rebroadcasting it. Directions say do not use in same rom as router. I have Comcast as ISP.

To set up you should be closer so you have access to both the router and the extender. You then move the extender to a remote, yet within range to the original router location.

This product does not replace a router it simply extends the WiFi signal beyond your router's normal capacity. It should be placed away from the router for maximum effect.
