Q: QuestionWould this work from one building to another about 40 feet away?The router is located in the house and we are trying to get a wifi connection at the apartment above our garage about 40 feet away? Will this product help us obtain an connectivity while in this apartment. As of right now, only sometimes a connection can be found with just the router but only about 1/4 bars appear.

Q: QuestionI am sharing CenturyLink wireless internet with my neighbors whose router is about 150 yards away. I have about 50% signal now. Would this work to boost the signal and would it need to be placed in their home or mine?

Second step is to place it halfway to where you ultimately want it placed and connect it again so it knows where to follow the signal. Finally, you can place it at your place where you get even a weak signal and it will boost it for you and strengthen the signal you're getting.

Q: QuestionHow does this compare to the Netgear 6200 extender?The extender specs for the Netgear 6200 and 6150 appear identical. Apart from the additional Ethernet ports on the 6200, which I don't need, is there any other benefit to it? I like the smaller form factor of the 6150 but more importantly I want the most powerful extender I can get. Any help or insight would be most appreciated. Thank you.

• A:Answer Simon - not sure if this answer is too late, but if I remember correctly, the fellow at Best Buy where I purchased my 6150 stated that the power was the same - the primary difference was number of ports and maybe some other perk that I cannot remember. I was looking for the most power possible because of the location of my only Ethernet access (in the basement corner of a three level home), so I'm pretty certain I would have gotten the 6200 if there was a great power difference. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer I am not a technician. Just a simple user. I plugged it in and it picked up every network in a two block area so I don't think the router has anything to do with it. It was idiot proof to install. I would highly recommend this product.

Q: Questionextending wifi signal with a wired ethernet connectionI have a wired (ethernet) outlet in the room from where I want to extend the wifi signal since I have a very large home and backyard. My set-up includes a Netgear Router 1900 nighthak that is connected to the modem creating the wifi. In the room where I have the wired ethernet port I have my old netgear 600 router acting as a repeater. The signal is OK but not great. I wonder if the signal would be better if I replace the netgear 600 router that is acting as a repeater with a Netgear AC1200 extender connecting it via the same ethernet wired port. Thanks, Claudio

• A:Answer The powerline take advantage of the residential electrical wiring o transmit the data and extend your coverage. This uses the existing wifi network to extend and push further. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Specifically with the powerline product there can be interference with other product in the home and they do not work well in apartments or shared multidwellings. As for the wifi you have to have it positioned in an area where there is decent coverage to extend out. Remember poo in poo out. Hope this helps.
