No. My Nighthawk router is in my office, and I have the range extender in my basement for two reasons. One is to plug my wifi enabled receiver in and two, to extend the range since this is in the basement and on the opposite side of the house...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you can see the wireless signal with a mobile device the extender just amplifies that. You need to have a signal for it to simply "repeat" what you have already.
