So if your computer is 110 feet from the router and the extender is at the midpoint at 60 feet the computer only has to reach the extender at 50 feet for the signal …. Note that the Extender will create 1 or 2 new network names Router_ext1 {and Router_ext2 for 2 frequency / Mhz channels}, so your computer will need to log into one of the extension names, which you will see as an option "Available Network" …. It's not a big deal and not technical …. Both of my kids have multiple devices and have seen significant improvements and no dropped connections after installing this device …. It does not matter who the ISP is or what kind of router you are using {unless there is a connection limitation on the router} …. Highly recommend the NetGear Range Extender and it is actually very easy to setup beyond the technical brief on the package … Hope this helps all that are considering this product … Good Luck
