Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Distance from a router is always a factor as well as other environmental factors. Wireless signals tend to remain stronger going through wood and drywall than they do stone or glass. I'm going to assume your computer has a 802.11AC adapter. If true, then the 5Ghz band on an AC router will probably deliver quite a few megabits per second in your scenario. Remember, the "speed" being refered to is your connection speed to the ROUTER, not the internet. Using myself as an example, in my bedroom, I am separated from my router by 2 sliding glass doors. Still, with a "fair" connection I get about 117Mbs speed. The speed of the internet to my house is only 50Mbs, so I'm still getting (pretty much) the same speed as if I were hardwired.
