The computer you are inheriting will still be able to link up with this modem, however, it will be limited to the 2.4ghz channel which won't produce as much speed to your win7 PC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it will work fine. I have laptops that use 3 different operating systems and they all connect just fine. It works with VISTA, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The Vista machine is a 2007 model and connects just fine. The router also works with my Kindle Fire HD 1st edition and my new wireless printer. I also have a Windows 7 Desktop that is connected via a CAT 5 ethernet cable as is my older DVD player. I have had as many as 19 wireless devices connected to this router at the same time when all of my kids and grand kids are at my house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an old computer with Vista on it (back up computer and that tells you how old it is) it connects to this router without a problem. You should be fine but if you have issues with getting them to connect then go to best buy and get no less than the netgear n600 wireless adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The older technology laptops isn't able to take advantage of this router's abilities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The router is backward compatible, that is an AC router will read all over wireless signals. The exception is a "G" router would not read the signal from a computer with an AC signal. You can convert the older computers wireless signal to the new AC standard with an external AC card or you might be able to open the computer and insert a new AC card internally.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it does. I have an older dell laptop and desktop with b wi-fi and it connects, no problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it does. Most of these devices are backwards compatible, so you should be ok.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 4 year old Win7 laptop and it works fine with the router, with no new gear required. I could buy an AC USB adapter, bit not needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it will be a problem as it supports it. You should be able to use a USB external card. I would recommend buying the same brand as the router as it will better compatibility.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Connect to Wi‑Fi from any device. Mac. PC. iPhone. iPad. Apple TV. Really, any Wi‑Fi‑enabled device you have will work with AirPort Extreme. That’s because it’s compatible with devices using the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, and 802.11ac specifications. https://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/#safety
