It will work very well with your smart TV. Any initial difficulties with this router communicating with your modem can be fixed by calling Netgear (free service.) I have an 80" Sharp Aquos (purchased at BBY in 2016) and the streaming is flawless with zero reduction in Mbps per second (currently 243.) If your smart TV is missing certain APS such as Disney+, you can always add them via a Roku (also available at BBY.) I dumped my cable 3+ years ago. They kept raising the rates and I said adios. Good riddance. FYI, with the VUDU AP, you get endless FREE movies of different genres. Who needs cable?
