I have comcast internet with their router/modem combo with dual band but it range is not very good, I was wondering if I'd be able to plug this into it and if so would it send out its own signals along with the router/modem or just boost it? null

You can do either. Have Comcast pick up your router and use your own, or plug this router into your Comcast router and it will work too. I'd go the replace route/

I would suggest just getting one of Netgear's extender unit's. They are small and can be moved easily and will work off your main unit to extend the range to your room.

You will have to keep the router from Comcast as this is only a modem as the modem gets the data from your ISP. However, this can be connected to the Comcast router and used to as the central hub for Ethernet ports and WiFi signals.

Check and see if your router and modem separate. I had to do that with mine because it creates a weaker signal like having two signals running simultaneously.
