• Yes don’t hit buttons on the right side. They shut the router down. There are no indicators lights to let you know if the are on or off so press and walk away

• Yes of course for router but this one can't use as modem

• No you must have a modem connected to Optimum first and you then connect that to your router which is then connected to your computer.
