Yes, You would need an internet service to use this router. I used Charter Internet for years and recently switched over to ATT/Direct TV in a bundle. Shop for the Best Internet Services for your area to get the Best Deal. You can then use the WiFi for your internet needs for TV, DVD Player and your cell phone.
