There is no switch on it you set the device up on the frequency you want it on.

Please try again later.Yes, this router can have between 1 and 4 unique wireless networks (main and guest 2.4, main and guest 5.0), so you can set up only the 2.4 ghz network and then later set up the 5.0 ghz. If any of the 5.0 networks have the same SSID and password as a 2.4ghz network then your device will choose which band it likes best.
