A:AnswerYou have to purchase a cable modem and call your internet service provider to make sure you get a compatible model. They will pro a lot try to get you to route one from them. Once you have a modem then you can connect this router to the modem with an Ethernet cable to provide wifi signal to your devices. Cable from wall to cable modem then Ethernet cable from modem to router.

A:AnswerYes, it has to connect to some kind of fiber optic wiring thru your cable company, home phone line company or etc. It just doesn't connect to something in the air.
A:AnswerDoes it have an Ethernet connection.... if not, call Comcast and they should be able to swap it out.
If they can't, you need a new cable company, one that has up to date equipment.
