Yes it will..whatever the strength of your existing router..this will extend your wifi environment...i have my 360 plugged directly in with LAN, and I play heavy games like gta5, halo, destiny and so forth. Hope this helps you out

That is the exact purpose I bought it for. It didn't work for me, but it might for you. You have to set it up in an area that will grab the wifi signal from your modem or router. For me, that meant putting it in my bathroom or on my washer. Not too many other options for placement, which was a bummer.
