The router will work but you will not have a good range. The drywall will slow it down and the steel door will decrease it more. If you can leave the steel door open the range will increase . I had it installed in a small office space and had poor range . I did a no no and placed it on top of a refrigerator but gave it a clean line of sight . Range has increased by 30 percent
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As with any radio-based device, the signal could be impeded by any surrounding metal objects, walls, or other structures. Placing a wireless router in a in-wall cabinet with a metal door would greatly reduce the signal distance if not stop it at all. The instructions included with the NETGEAR - N900 Dual Band Wireless-N Router suggest placing it in a central location to the area in which you want to provide wireless internet; the higher the better. That said, I would not place any router in a cabinet and certainly not behind any type of metal doors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Think of a router as a radio tower. The signal transmits and broadcasts out in a cone shaped fashion. If you block the router will drywall and a steel door the radio waves will just bounce back. Which will not give you the greatest signal strength for wireless internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Router should work but the range will be diminished; in general you want as little between your computer and the router so a different place would be better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably not, or at least with a limited range. The steel will block the wifi signal but you will only know the limit if you try it out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Possibly, depending on range. However, not the preferred installation. Might consider hiding it in a centralized closet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but depending on the size of the house and the interference level of the steel door, you may have to install a router amplifier elsewhere in the home. Amplifiers are pricey, but install easily in a standard outlet anywhere in the home you require extra signal strength.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I assume this is a cabinet of some sort. It might work but I doubt that it would work very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe the Steel door might interfere with WiFi signal. It might still work but at a reduced range.
