A:AnswerNetgear tech support personnel assisted in setup - first tech had us use pc to setup, then back to ISP for some tweaking, second Netgear tech person, had us use smart phone (very tedious on smart phone). The installation took over 4 hours combined!!!! Instructions in package were of no help. The online user manual is 150+ pages in length!
A:AnswerYes, that's the very reason why I purchased this one because my cable company stopped doing both and only offered 5ghz and I needed the 2.4 for my outdoor security cameras, works great too
A:AnswerNo...and yes. During initial setup you need to be in range of the router to connect to it. Once its set up there is the ability to do certain things remotely. I can't say what all can be done remotely via the app, but I know it can run a speed test and be rebooted via the app.
A:AnswerShort version: This router won't limit your speed if you have a 1 Gbs internet connection. My connection is a nominal 1 Gbs, and I routinely get over 0.9 Gbs, as measured by Ookla Speedtest, using a wired connection to my desktop computer.
Wired connection or wireless, all devices connected to the router share the bandwidth, so you won't get peak speed when more than one device is active. (Not a router limitation, just basic physics.)
Longer version: There is no simple answer to wireless speed using a given device with the router. Apart from what I mention above, the speed depends on the signal strength at the device (which might have walls or other barriers between it and the router), the capabilities of the device, and interference from other wireless signals in the neighborhood.
A:AnswerIt's about 150 feet from my router to my backyard and I get signal all the way through my backyard door, as for devices connected at once, I've got my TV, laptop, desktop, two phones and a crypto miner all using the wifi at once...so it's great?!
