• Yes, thia is only a WIFI router. You will need a separate cable modem for Comcast service.

• Yes. The ASUS GT-AX11000 is a router only. Comcast's internet service requires a modem to receive the internet signal. The modem, in turn, is connected to a router (in needed). If you have the Xfinity Gateway, which is a modem/router combination, you can disable the router portion by logging into the unit's internal dashboard, and enabling Bridge Mode. Once Bridge Mode has been enabled, the Xfinity Gateway will function solely as a modem. From there, you can utilize the ASUS GT-AX11000 as your routing solution. Google "Turn off comcast wifi and enable bridge mode" for steps on how to do this.
