“Is this modem used for both a phone line and internet”

• No that was the problem with Xfinity instructions. I had to get 2 modems to make it work right.

• Internet yes Phone no. There is no way to directly connect a phone to this unit.

• The question is not really clear, but its a cable in with only ethernet out. no phone lines at all
