You don’t have to have a modem with this. I thought you did too until I called netgear to help me set mine up. The guy said it’s overkill and it’s not needed so I took back the one we had bought when we purchased the Orbi mesh system. So if you get this, this is all you need. And there is a 800 number that will walk you through setting it up properly. They were amazing!
