This is a router, not a modem. This will not replace the functionality of a modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No this is a different device. It is not a cable modem. You need to have Ethernet going into the WAN port. So you will need a basic generic Cable Modem (with Ethernet out), which pretty much all of the providers should supply anyhow, and then hook this up as the router.

This is purely a router. you will have to buy a router that the cable plugs into and then plug that via a network cable (Cat 6) into this router. That is how I have mine setup. Never buy a router/modem combo, they suck.
