Yeah sadly in the new game you play at the same time and can’t take turns

If you choose two player, you would start on the screen together but one of you could just float in a bubble and float behind the other player while they try to make it through the course, then is they get hit the round will end and then you can just try again and reverse who goes in the bubble. You could just play one player and hand the controller to each other each round too.
