I bought this as a gift for my wife, so that we could play it with friends. Having been a player of Mario bros games since the original Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3 on the NES, it’s neat to see how they’ve expanded over time. I played the Wii version of this game years ago with my nieces and nephews, and remembered the 4-player experience to be great. Now the new deluxe version adds two additional playable characters: Nabbit and Toadette, who are much easier for newer players or folks that aren’t as quite experienced. Nabbit isn’t harmed by enemies and only dies by falling off screen or by hot lava or poison water. But, he also cannot use any of the power-ups. However, any power-ups he collects turn into 1-ups at the end of the level. So whoever plays as Nabbit builds extra lives quickly.
Toadette is also “easier” to play as, she can jump pretty high, and she has a special crown power-up that turns her into princess peach, where she gets more abilities. Great character for little girls who are new to the game.
Highly recommend this. A great family title.

I love playing this game! It gives me nostalgia and would recommend to anyone who would love to get in touch with their childhood. I had a Nintendo DS and the Wii and I enjoyed playing this game.

Mario is undoubtedly a video game from my childhood, so this great collection of levels is one of the best Switch purchases I've ever made, highly recommended if you're into platforms.

If you are a Mario fan then you will love this. I had never played this on Wii U so it was the first time playing it. I did not want to play Super Mario Odyssey because it was to 4D for me.
You can play as Luigi, Toad, Mario, Toadette and Nabbit in this game. Some levels are tricky and others are really difficult, but it has the nifty helper feature where if you attempt the level enough times then it allows you to hit the green box then Luigi will guide you through the entire level which is a great.

This game is awesome! It brings back so many memories from when I was a little kid and when I played with older brother on the Wii U. Day after day, after school that was the first thing we did. Opening the game brought a lot of nostalgia and made me tear up. I had no issues receiving the game and it came in perfect condition.

•Gameplay: ★★★★☆ (tight & polished)
•Content: ★★★★★ (two games + extras)
•Innovation: ★★☆☆☆ (classic with minimal new twists)
•Port value: ★★★★☆ (worth it on sale; still solid at full price)

It’s a good, not great game that suffered from being another in a long line of a game series that Nintendo fans were long ready to move past. Now that Mario Wonder exists, it’s easier to go back to this game and see all the good things about it. Well designed levels. Good music. The addition of Super Luigi U. It’s worth adding to your collection.

It is delightful experience bringing back Mario in this deluxe version. I can reflect back on when I was younger playing the original Nintendo with super Mario one and three. The game brings back some of the of the original concepts, yet does a great job expanding on them, creating a wonderful adventure.

I bought this game for my girlfriend and it was the best thing I could see done, she is fascinated, she likes it a lot, she plays it daily.
and I play with it sometimes, and the truth is that it is very exciting, I think it is a very nice game and without so much aggression, it is very good for both adults and children, I really recommend this game.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would do so without thinking.

I remember playing the original Mario Brothers in the 80's. This game has a lot of the same characteristics. My children have a great time playing together.

Like, if Hotel Mario is Mario '06, than this is Mario Forces. The challenge mode is cool, Luigi's campaign is fun and unique, but the base game is just so nothing. I only bought this to have every mainline Mario game covered before the Galaxy movie.

So stoked that they created a game that has the same left to right gameplay as the original classic- just with excellent graphics! Really fun to play two player co-op!

I’m a huge Mario fan and I enjoy most Mario games. This is no exception. It’s your typical Mario 2D side-scrolling platformer. I really enjoy this game. It’s also a remake of the Wii U version except with some extras. If you played the Wii U version, you’ll probably won’t want this one, but if you never owned the Wii U version and you own a Switch and want to play it, I say go on and grab this copy.
