It's a Mario Bros U deluxe a time! Woo Hoo!

If you are a Mario fan then you will love this. I had never played this on Wii U so it was the first time playing it. I did not want to play Super Mario Odyssey because it was to 4D for me. You can play as Luigi, Toad, Mario, Toadette and Nabbit in this game. Some levels are tricky and others are really difficult, but it has the nifty helper feature where if you attempt the level enough times then it allows you to hit the green box then Luigi will guide you through the entire level which is a great.

    Deluxe!

I bought this as a gift for my wife, so that we could play it with friends. Having been a player of Mario bros games since the original Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3 on the NES, it’s neat to see how they’ve expanded over time. I played the Wii version of this game years ago with my nieces and nephews, and remembered the 4-player experience to be great. Now the new deluxe version adds two additional playable characters: Nabbit and Toadette, who are much easier for newer players or folks that aren’t as quite experienced. Nabbit isn’t harmed by enemies and only dies by falling off screen or by hot lava or poison water. But, he also cannot use any of the power-ups. However, any power-ups he collects turn into 1-ups at the end of the level. So whoever plays as Nabbit builds extra lives quickly. Toadette is also “easier” to play as, she can jump pretty high, and she has a special crown power-up that turns her into princess peach, where she gets more abilities. Great character for little girls who are new to the game. Highly recommend this. A great family title.

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this game, but it's basically the same Super Mario play style that people my age (30's) grew up playing on regular and super Nintendo, except better! What I like about it is that you can just simply beat a level, or you can beat it while also collecting all 3 stars. I thought multiplayer would make levels easier, but in a way, it actually makes it more of a challenge because you have to coordinate with the other player and try not to hit each other unexpectedly. Overall, it's a great challenging game with plenty of content.

If you hadn't played New Super Mario Bros U + New Super Luigi U (we'll call it NSMBU+NSLU) when it launched on the Wii U then this is a great time to experience the game in full 1080p. Like most other Wii U to Switch ports this game now runs at 1080p on TV and 720p handheld. On Wii U it ran at 720p on TV and 480p in handheld. The other new additions have been the replacement of blue Toad with options for Toadette (aka Peachette with the super crown) and Nabbit who doesn't take damage from enemies. If you played through on Wii U it was a fun game but now with Nabbit a younger player can have fun playing with a group of more experienced players. Also Peachette can fall it pits and bounce back up once per fall. So the new player options are great. Not to mention the New Super Luigi U DLC being included that was $20 more than the base $60 when it released after the original game. If you've played through the game once there isn't really any new content aside from the two new player choices. Old modes return including challenges where you can play as a Mii character. So I can recommend NSMBU+NSLU Deluxe but your level of enjoyment can vary. On the one hand not many experienced this game on Wii U so it's great to have a true Mario side scrolling adventure on Switch.

I wanted a game I could play with my fiance that reminded us of the games we grew up playing. She was so excited to play this game (I was too)! It definitely has the look and feel of the old school games with modern graphics and updates which I love. I thought this would be an easy game but I was wrong - when you play with 2 players, BOTH players are on the screen at the same time moving independently of each other and can run into each other, jump into them, hit them with turtle shells, etc! It adds a really difficult element to the game (in a good way). I tease my fiance that if we can survive playing this game, our marriage will be just fine.

Got this on sale and am so glad I bought it! Fast free delivery. I’ve been a fan of Mario games. Fun game to play but there are times I get frustrated the inner child in me gets upset if I almost got it but did not. My stress reliever during pandemic. I just wish games are not as expensive so you could buy more to think switch consoles are already expensive. I finished the entire game but now I have to play it again to get all the giant gold coins so I could play the Superstar Road

I had a blast with this on my Wii U and picked up on the Switch to really "enjoy" the 4-player co-op gameplay. There's nothing new here, just tight responsive classic Mario gameplay that rewards a little exploration of the levels. If you're looking for a local co-op game this is a great choice, though playing with kids could leave a little frustrated but it's still a good time and worth checking out.

Couldn’t own a Switch without a Super Mario Bro’s game. So far the game has the classic story of making your way back to the castle to save Peach. Glad to see some new power ups and features.

Good prices, prompt and hassle free checkout and delivery. The one time a product was sold out after I had preordered it, I was sent an almost identical product for free, it was a 68$ value to boot. I would call that OUTSTANDING customer service. I buy my games here frequently because of the great value, sales, delivery, and customer service. I can always count on Best Buy to deliver with top quality and price, in a timely manner.

If you missed out on the Wii U version of this game from 2013, then this port is certainly worth playing. Excellent multiplayer or solo fun with the expected high quality of Mario level design. But it's a port of a 2013 game without much extra added, so try to catch it on sale if you can.

Bought this for my wife. She’s a huge SNES Mario fan so we bought the SNES mini and ran through that game just like the old days. Then when we got the switch we tried a couple other games, but she is not a big fan of the 3D Mario games like Super Mario Odyssey. This is much more her style. Good buy for that aspect.

This a great game for people who enjoy challenging games. This is an exact port from the Wii U, but I’ve never owned one so this was my first time playing l. I love every second of this game. I would 100% recommend, if you’re looking to throw another game in the loop. It’s just like the older version but it looks nice and updated.

My father had to undergo emergency surgery, issues is no phone no visitors in the ER or recovery. Trying to get a phone to a loved one is next to impossible. We bought a tracphone and it was hard for my dad to use. I bought this today, and he was able to use it (His first phone every outside of a landline) within 10 minutes.

The detail work in this game is great. I missed it on the Wii U as I skipped that platform. Getting to catch it on the Switch has been a real treat. Recommended for anyone who missed it the first time around.

I bought this for my son and he loves the game. I usually do research on all of the games to make sure he buys games with decent reviews prior to buying them since they are so expensive. He plays this one a lot and I got it on sale, so it had an ok discount. I only wish the normal price of these games was lower so we could buy more games for him. Regardless, it’s a great game and he uses it a lot.

The ultimate 2D Mario game! Lots of content!

    |
    Posted .

Let me start off by saying that this isn't an entirely new game–it's essentially "New Super Mario Bros. U" that was released on the Wii U a few years back. However, a few new features are present: Toadette and Nabbit are new playable characters and serve as the game's easy mode...and all of the content from Super Luigi U is present as well. As Peachette, Toadette can float and boost high into the air–making her perfect for avoiding chasms and backtracking to previous levels to mop up those hard-to-reach gold coins. As for Nabbit, he's invincible to enemy damage and great for younger players to tag-along and get used to the game. Other than that, this is "New Super Mario Bros. U" with a fresh coat of paint. Anyone who already has the Wii U version might be hard-pressed to pay full price for this game again (unless they just want it on Switch for portability). There's a lot of content here though for your buck, so it's pretty much the best 2D Mario game out there right now. If you didn't get it on Wii U, now's the perfect time.
