• This camera system is independent and does not use a DVR system. It stores video locally on the camera's themselves and uses the app to control them through the HomeBase included.

• This particular camera works with Category 5e or Category 6 wiring as they are IP cameras that works with the NVR system. If you are using a DVR I believe they have almost the same camera for that system but you want to be sure that the camera you buy works with coax cable and your DVR system. I hope this helps.
