Yes, the Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight External Flash is compatible with the Nikon D3500. Note that the Nikon D3500 does not have built-in commander mode so you would need to add a Nikon Creative Lighting System compatible commander, such as the Nikon SU-800 or another Nikon CLS flash, to wirelessly trigger Nikon Speedlights. Additionally, the Nikon D3500 is not capable of Radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting.
