If it’s not bright enough, then nothing is!!

I can’t say enough about how good this flash is. There really isn’t anything that it can’t do and I feel like I haven’t even come close to truly using it. My only really complaint is that it’s just a little outdated. It doesn’t exactly feel outdated it just is. It’s also not quite as rugged as other Nikon accessories. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very durable. Probably more so than a lot of other flashes. It’s just not as durable. I’m honestly just being picky though. If you haven’t already bought it then do it. Don’t make the mistake of saving money.

Upgrading from a sb700 and preforms awesome on my D810. Back panel layout is user friendly. Worth the expense that I put off for sometime considering cheaper options. Hub store made walk in and walk out purchase a breeze.

I tried cheap style flash for years but knew I needed something better for doing events. For on camera flash this is the brightest I've used so far. Super bright with lots of controls and super fast refresh. It's worth the $ if you're a pro or semi pro. It's not as bright as one of those heavy ones with a curtain however, it will still surprise you.

There are flashes and there are FLASHES and this is the later … only thing is it takes time to learn all the functionality of what it can do … point and shoot is all you want, it have it out of the box, but this can do so much more.

When shooting photographs, I like to paly around with light balance, focus of elements in pictures, and other things, just to see what comes out. I bought this flash to go with my Nikon Z-50 camera, and I had I purchased a Godox flash before this, as a less expensive alternative. While the Godox is a decent flash, I find that the SB-5000 is miles ahead for use with Nikon cameras. It's seamless, works intuitively with my Nikon camera, and just all around better.

I'm a professional fashion photographer and I find the Nikon SB-5000 Speedlight to be an exceptional tool. There is an intuitive nature to the SB-5000 that is refreshing. There is ample power for BTS, Red Carpet, Step and Repeat and beautiful portraits that I prefer over other brands. at times we just can't setup strobes and umbrellas. I shoot Canon, Nikon and Fuji and the Nikon SB-5000 is in a class of its own. It's perfect on my Z9Less

I bought this flash to replace my SB 900. This flash is very easy to use and very powerful at the same time. The best part is that it is smaller than my Sb900 and I have the ability to use it during weddings. overheating was my biggest concern and with this flash it is not an issue.

    A reliable powerful professional flash

I am a part time professional who has 3 SB-5000 with this purchase. I am impressed with the 1.8 second recycle time. However, I hook my sb-5000s to a quantum turbo sc for even quicker recycle times. Heat from flash is not an issue like the Sb-900. Please make sure when you set up the flash that you do not inadvertently turn off the the fan in the flash via the system interface. I love how you can command multiple flashes via the creative flash system. These flashes also works great with the 2 sb-910 I have and the two sb-800. I really get professional results. This was a purchase I would recommend.

Excellent! Quite powerful and fast - I used it for an indoor Christmas party in a big dark house, and it did great! I haven’t had a chance to try all of the features yet, but the lighting I got didn’t have that “deer in the headlights” look and the lighting was evenly dispersed. Very happy with this purchase.

First of all, the Nikon SB-5000 is a great flash, always accurate, always reliable. I had to buy a new one when I broke my old one. Note: Hang on to the flash and don't drop it! I was in need the next day for a new flash. Best Buy not only had one in stock, but the price was better than other places. I picked it up before they closed that same night. Back in business the next day shooting an event.

This is probably the top of the line flash you can get for your Nikon. I use it on an D810. Works great. The options can be overwhelming but if you don't want to dig through the manual there are plenty of youtube videos online. If you are looking to do some more advanced stuff this is for you. You can set this up as strobe off camera with a transmitter and the battery life and speed is good on it. If this is just for regular everyday shots it might be a bit overkill and the lower models will probably work for you.

A little expensive but you get what you pay for. Very quick and does the job as intended. I have other cheaper speed lights for lighting up larger areas but obviously this is my main. Love the Nikon brand!

This Flash is Wonderful at keeping up with the number of photos that you want to take. The recycle time is short and ready to go in seconds for the next shot. I got this flash to go with my Z7 so that I could keep my old flash with my D850.

I am ready for Nikon to make a new flash but for now, this one still works very well on my Z8. Sometimes there is some type of connection error and I have to turn the camera off a few times for it to work but it always seems to work.

I have several Nikon speed lights but this is the first with radio control. Works great with the Nikon wireless transmitter and allows flash placement where optical control is not possible. Nikon speed lights are pricey compared to third party flashes but they are well built and function perfectly.
