The “cheaper” version sold in Japan is region and language locked to Japanese and Japanese accounts as the value of the Japanese Yen is currently very weak and they want their home audience to have a fair chance to play the Switch 2 with their income while being able to avoid scalpers. There is a region/language free console also available for a similar value as the Switch 2 in other countries, which is out of scope for most people in Japan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are only paying less for the region locked console because the yen isnt worth much right now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your "question" acts like price increases are something that only Nintendo is doing (they're not). Additionally, the Switch 2 being sold in Japan won't function in any language other than Japanese and isn't region-free. Please do some research before jumping to conclusions in the future.
