No, to connect to a network you must use WiFi. While you may have luck using a USB C to Ethernet cable for internet access I would not recommend it as you are bypassing the biggest feature of the device - being cable free (tetherless).

First - be aware you do not have to have an internet connection to play the games you have installed. It works offline just fine.

As for wifi - the device does not have an LTE antenna so it needs a wifi connection. I typically setup my cell phone (Google Pixel 2XL) as a wifi hot spot and have it serve a wifi connection for the Quest - it works great.

Initial setup is through your phone. During this set-up the quest is connected to your home WiFi. The system offers apps like Netflix and Oculus tv out of the box where you can stream services. It also has the ability to stream content on a local network too, I haven't tried this but have seen YouTube videos where they do this.
