    VR Untethered

As an early adopter of VR, the news of a totally wireless experience intrigued me. After some research, I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy an Oculus quest as a birthday present to myself. I have not regretted it for a second. Setup is easy, and switching between users is as simple as adjusting the IPD slider on the bottom left of the headset. The guardian system is intuitive and simple to setup, and also pretty easy to turn off, if you're feeling brave. The controller tracking is better than expected. There are NO WIRES. This means you aren't tethered to a system keeping you within a certain distance. You don't have to worry about your pets chewing them up and ruining them. You won't get tangled up or accidentally unplug in the middle of a session. It's fantastic. Of course, there are some issues with going standalone. The headset is front heavy, and pretty uncomfortable. It pushed on my cheeks and made my teeth/jaw ache after some use. I used the vive DAS modification to fix the comfort level, though there are lots of more affordable, easy fixes for the weight distribution issue. There is not a lot of content available in the store for the Quest, though I'm sure it will grow. You can sideload apps and mods unofficially, which gives you access to some additional, and sometimes really great content. The battery life sucks. This can be fixed by attaching a power bank to the headset in some fashion, but it still needs to be noted that the 2 hours of battery life the headset has standard is just not enough, especially if you want to share the experience, which you will. The controllers are good, but the straps are pretty chintzy, and the battery covers like to slide all over the place. They also have a pretty slim battery life. This can be fixed by investing in some rechargeable batteries and some grip covers. Just be aware that any cover that covers the ring is not going to work, as the IR sensors are housed in the ring. You cover it, you lose tracking. Overall, I love my Oculus quest, and I have used it far more than any other VR headset in just the month or so I've had it, but I had to put a little money and effort in to making it a 5 star experience, hence the 4 star rating on here.

I was hunting for a quest for weeks before BestBuy got one in stock, took a few days to get to the store (less than they said) and curb side pickup was easy.. Now the Oculus Quest is awesome! As a stand-alone mobile VR headset it is as immersive and fun as it is expensive! You end up spending some more dollars to get a few games, but they’r a lot of fun. Then you get a USB3 Link cable and hook it up to your gaming PC, and there’s another eco system of games available: Oculus Rift, SteamVR, SideQuest ... and though I haven’t tried it yet, supposedly you can play all those games without the Link cable using Virtual Desktop.. In short the Quest gives you multiple options in a sleek, easy to setup and use package. It looks awesome and is finally in a place where VR is worth the price. Also don’t play Roller Coaster or you’ll throw up,.. and Half-Life: Alyx is absolutely amazing and worth it!

My boyfriend has the Oculus Rift, and it was amazing— but you need to have a pretty good computer to run the unit and applications. The Oculus Quest has been an easy to understand, portable device that allows me to bring virtual reality to all my friends and family. The downsides to the device are 1. You can only play games from the Oculus store (versus the Rift, where you can play STEAM games as well) and 2. There is a power limit for the portable device (I think it’s around 3hours). Although I did like the adjustment and feel of the Rift headset, the Quest isn’t hard to get used to, and it’s definitely worth the investment. Try one out, you won’t regret it!

Owned for a couple months now. Would’ve been five stars if it came with the cord to hook up to your PC. I also own a rift S and the graphics are quite a bit nicer on the rift but the versatility of the quest makes up for it. It is heavy though. If I play the quest and then put on my rift it feels like air. The rift is so much lighter. Needs to come with padding for the head straps even though I do like the strap better than the Rift, once I put my own cushion on it. I would say for how new the technology is it’s a 9.5 out of 10. Doesn’t really freeze, battery lasts a long time and charges fast. It gets better with every update. If you buy this and you don’t like it then you’re probably not a very fun person. As you can see I added A little extension so if I am playing it plugged in, it doesn’t pull on the fragile plug that is factory installed. My friend got one at the same time and it rubbed both our noses. And we do not have big noses. We use the eyeglass spacer piece and that brought it out where it didn’t rub on your nose. It’s hard plastic where your nose goes and my rift is nice and soft. There’s no doubt that with a good graphics card (I run a 1080ti) the rift does look better but I have not put this on my PC yet.

I love this wireless VR gaming headset, I use it to play BeatSaber and I also love to watch YouTube videos and movies with this. The one thing that I don't like is the head strap is not very comfortable, so I modded the head strap with the the HTC Vive deluxe audio head strap, it is now 10x more comfortable and the sound is better too. I got the idea for the headship mod from YouTube.

This one was more than what i was expecting.Graphics are really good. There is not a lot of games in the store yet but the ones they have are the really good ones and they always add new games. The only thing i kind of didnt like is the design Oculus Rift has a better design and more comfortable, the cloth covering the inside part of the glasses started comming off already. But overall i liked this vr set.

This is my second Oculus Quest purchase, and while I prefer the 128gb model, this one will serve it's intended purpose, running a few games and workout programs. I am a huge fan of entering into a different environment, and interacting within it, in a far more natural way than one would do with a computer or game console. Want to walk and peek through a doorway? You walk, and peek through the doorway! No use of a keyboard or mouse to look, move, or shoot! 90% of all actions are done in the same way you would do in real life ...if real life has hordes of zombies coming for you! The natural feel and interaction is what helps envelop the user in the experience! If you have not yet experienced VR, seek out a friend, or visit your nearest Best Buy!

VR is unlike anything else. It’s immersive, entertaining, and liberating. There are tons of games to play that range in genres, activity levels, and styles. I can walk across a beam 20+ stories in the air then watch a comedy show where please are sitting all around me. I purchased an oculus quest because I didn’t want to be tied to a PC. The battery life isn’t great but the link cable it comes with to charge it is quite long and I can play plugged in during long gaming sessions. You can even plug the quest into a PC if you want and play all the rift games.

Excellent product for the price that you can play almost anywhere. I normally do not play video games but after buying the Occulus I cannot help myself. Definitely a better product once you buy some of the accessories. Also I would recommend the entry 64gb model if you can find it! So far so good just make sure it is protected and well taken care of. Can be played standing or seated as well. Enjoy!

The Oculus Quest All-In-One VR Gaming Headset is simply put AMAZING! The graphics are so vivid. The head set itself fits comfortably on my head and is easy to adjust. I like that the hand controllers come with straps so that they do not fall off of my hands during play. The only thing that bothers me is that in vigorous play sometimes the battery compartment opens up on the hand controller, but it is magnetic so it slides easily back in. I also love that this is a stand alone unit and I do not need any other devices to run it. The headset charges to full power in about two hours and it will run for about two hours, so it is a nice break while it is charging. There are many fun games that are affordable to buy. I like that it keeps me moving and I burn calories while I play. Everything is so lifelike!

I love my oculus quest! It is the best toy I have ever owned ;) I use it to escape my reality and its like im in another world. The picture quality is vibrant and the sound loud enough to drown out my kids noise! The only downside is its a little top heavy and gave me headaches until I got a battery pack to balance the weight.

If I could have you all over to my house to play, I would because it’s going to be really hard to let my words do justice here... Starting off with the packaging, this was so sleek and modern. With my first VR system, I didn’t know what to expect but everything was well bundled, assembled, and looked great coming out of the box. The Oculus Quest is changing the way VR is played by making it virtually wireless and requiring roughly 6x6ft of freedom to play, making it perfect if you’ve got a spare bedroom or bonus room to use, let alone a living room with an easy to use couch. Setup was simple, I charged the headset, popped in the included AA batteries into the headset, downloaded the Oculus app, followed the prompts and was on my way. The oculus app is seemingly necessary so you’ll want to ensure you have a smart phone, though I imagine the VR/smartphone crossover crowd is the vast majority. Once I got up and running I powered it on and completely fell in love. STOP READING AND GO BUY THIS NOW! The virtual world is completely encompassing of all your senses. Setup in the VR world was a breeze. It detects your floor depth and can be adjusted if needed, you draw an outline on the floor for your play area, it will show you a virtual walk around you to confirm and you’re off to the races. There’s a completely immersive intro followed by a tutorial, which honestly is so fun that it’s worth the cost of the system alone. I could and did spend hours playing the tutorial. Once completed the tutorial transports you to the living room of a cabin. This is your hub and allows you to access a web browser, watch Netflix, and is the dashboard for the system where you can visit the oculus library and purchase/play games. Note that most games available on other oculus systems aren’t available on Oculus Quest and the current game library is probably 20 titles deep, each costing ten to thirty dollars, with a couple free games or demos sprinkled in. The headset was as comfortable as could be and I even was to try out the spacer for using glasses while in play. It worked fine, was easy to swap in and out, so don’t lose hope if you wear glasses. Honestly, the whole experience from box to play was mind blowing on every level. I was so immersed that I had to think really hard about how to return the real world, turns out taking the headset off works fine... Note that the mobile app also allows you to cast video so your friends can watch from a phone or TV in your network. The sound is fantastic, and there’s even a vision corrector on the headset so you can make adjustments based upon your various users eye quality. In closing, the ONLY downside is the current game library, but I don’t fault the system or Oculus for this as it will correct itself over time since the system is brand new. Please go buy this and get ready to have the time of your life

My son saved up his money and was able to get this for his birthday. I had rather low expectations, but they were shattered immediately. For $400 this is amazing, albeit the graphics aren’t the best, it’s still immersive. I can only imagine how it will improve. It’s comfortable, and has a nice selection of titles, especially since now you can hook up to your pc and play steam games. The worst part so far was, my other son hit our TV accidentally and we had to buy a new one, so be careful.

This is a very cool toy. However, it makes my head spin. When playing Rec Room paintball, when you use the joy stick to spin the world around in direction, I get nauseous. My son does not as much though. The 3D videos like para skiing are amazon. Or 3D video in Egypt near the pyramids. Its a very cool concept. I would recommend the get the Oculus case, or a good case to protect your toy.
