I bought this headset in september, and it's not easy to explain how amazing VR is, it's something you need to experience. Oculus Quest is my first VR headset and I'm very happy I made this choice. Only thing than make me not rated 5 stars, is that even if it's a wireless device, it is a little uncomfortable to wear the headset, and after some time it can be some what annoying. I guess if and when they create a lighter device it will be awesome. Besides that I really recommend this product.

I bought this a month ago and it is really great. It is very comfortable and very portable. I Would recommend this to anyone because even though my mom isn't really into the gaming world she is in love with this. There isn't that big as a library as rift but its getting there, the top games I play are 1. Vrchat, 2. Beat saber 3. Job simulator and more. Its worth the price and it is light and portable. Things to know before buying it: 1. It will use a good amount of AA batteries, I recommend getting a battery recharger. The controllers battery doesn't last long 2. You need at least 6x6 feet of space to play most games, you can play outside but if the sun light touches the lens it could damage it. 3. Good for people 13 or older, if younger let them play for a small period of time 4. Your gonna have fun

I first experienced Oculus VR thru Best Buy/Verizon, on my Samsung Notebook. It was quite an experience seeing the world like no other way could show. This takes it to a whole new level of immersion and interaction. Now you don't just see these other worlds... you can actually control parts of them and feel the feedback through the hand controllers. All without a wire or even a computer. Some apps can even work without the controllers, by tracking hamd movements. The playspace and pass-through still impress me. I was a geek, back in the early 1980's, when computer memory was still counted in kilobytes (35k, Vic20). This stuff is beyond anything I could have imagined back then! Star Wars was an incredible movie, back then. Today, you can actually be a part of the missions ON THE SHIP! The only thing I wish was that the 128gb version was available, when I bought this. In about a week, I managed to fill about half of the available memory.

    How is this possible?!

Good VR is complicated, besides needing content.. - you have to render your screen twice from different perspectives to create stereoscopic 3D. - you need high resolution to cover your field of view without getting too much screen door effect/pixelation - you need consistent high frame rate (really important) - you need precise 6DoF tracking with no noticeable lag/latency (really important) - you need hand presence (tracked controllers).. A stand alone device powered by a mobile snap dragon 835 processor should not be able to do all of the above... Yet it does, and it does it extremely well.. you won’t have ultra-realistic scenes and graphics in most cases... but you’ll feel like you are there.. High end graphics are nice, but in VR presence is king. I’m very impressed with this device.

All I can say is wow! From pretty much the first minute I put this thing on I was in complete jaw-dropping amazement at what I was seeing. Being immersed in VR is so hard to describe when you’re not wearing the headset, but trust me it’s amazing! I already knew games like Beat Saber was gonna be fun but it’s some of the other apps like NextVR that had me saying to myself “How the hell is this even possible?!” Can you imagine being courtside at at NBA game? This puts you there! I can’t wait to see what other things VR developers can come up with but the future is bright and this Oculus Quest is truly mind blowing! I will give you two things I don’t like about it though: it should have come with rechargeable batteries for the controllers and it should have come with a case. For the price that’s inexcusable if you compare the value to something like an Xbox or PlayStation. Other than those two minor gripes I do highly recommend this thing!

Everyone who has wanted to try this with me has loved it. I'm a big fan and there are many solid games for it. The games seem really responsive. You honestly don't need to much space to play this since you can make the boundaries within the headset. Also it is very easy to set up and start up games. You can also purchase through the app on the phone, your PC, or directly through the headset. The only 3 downsides to this headset are: 1.) Sweat can build up around the edges, but it's easy to clean and wipe down 2.) After about 30 minutes of play you can feel the weight of the headset since it is front heavy 3.) Personally after about 45-60 min of play my friends and I do tend to get nauseous. Overall I highly recommend this, and if you're a casual gamer like myself, the 64gb option is more than enough.

For years I always wished there was a way to access good quality virtual reality at a lower price point that didn’t require an external PC or console to run it. The quest is that, and it is done incredibly well. For just a headset alone the quality is great and immersive in headset, and not having to worry about any wires to trip over is also a huge plus. The one grievance I have would have to be the selection of games. Not to say that there are not any good games because there are many, but it may be disappointing to some to see that the titles they looked forward to most aren’t available on the quest. However if you have a PC already, you can connect the headset via oculus link and access more titles. Overall it is a great device and this has me excited for the future of virtual reality.

The Quest is a great all-in-one VR solution. Once you get it on and set up, it's like you're in another world. Being wireless and self-contained, we can use it anywhere in the house and handing it off from person to person is a breeze. It makes for a fun family game session as we try to one-up each other in Beat Saber. The tracking, both head tracking and controller tracking has been spot-on for us. I've read complaints about it being front-heavy, but this is not something we've experienced. Out of the box, the straps are adjusted *entirely* wrong. That top strap had to be let out quite a bit to get the thing to fit properly around the backs of our heads. But it lets out easily and it's all velcro. So that took us all of 90 seconds to remedy. We only adjust the side straps when we switch it between people.

The Quest a I said changed my world...VR gaming is definitely the way of the future, and experiencing TV, Movies, etc in a movie with this thing its second to none. Only thing is this device is on a bit of the heavy side imo. Mods are out there to make it better, but not perfect. I enjoy this system or my Go daily. The Quest I play games that are stand alone for the system, along with virtual desktop to play my computer VR games, and also the link cable to do the same. I'm fortunate to have a VR compatible laptop to do so. I play with my buddy, and got my daughter a VR headset as well so we can still see each other during these hard times. If your on the edge dont be, it's worth it. Again it's not perfect, but the best experience out there for digital entertainment.

The Oculus Quest has exceeded my expectations and continues to blow my mind with the experiences and the game play on this headset. The cost of games are very reasonable and there are many free apps which is a bonus. The headset though is a bit front heavy and after a while, it gets uncomfortable on the cheeks and the bridge of the nose. The 64GB fills up pretty fast and I wish they had made an option for expanding the storage but I am sure this was intentional, I actually get less than 64GB and it would make more sense that if you have bigger storage, owners would buy more games. Batteries drain very quickly on the 2 handsets. Overall, the playability on this standalone system has been very impressive.

I got this a week before family vacation. I’m doing really fun stuff on vacation but still find myself wishing I could put this thing back on my head. The fact that it works as well as it does in a wireless all in one device amazes me. Everyone I’ve let test it is just as amazed and plans to buy one. I had the Oculus Go but it’s more of a media viewing device. Loving Beat Saber and Robo Recall right now. Looking forward to trying Superhot. Can’t recommend the Quest enough to do it justice. Absolutely love this thing.

This is THE VR headset I have been waiting for! It is a completely self contained VR experience with no wires to tether you to the computer. My family and I were able to download and enjoy a game in moments with the headset and the tutorials made it pretty easy. Battery Life seems a little low 2-3 hrs but , that's to be expected with so much going on in the headset and to keep the headset lightweight. Screen Quality was great however it did take a bit of adjusting before things weren't blurry. Keep adjusting until things clear up. The casting feature needs a little work but it was sufficient for the rest of us to see what was going on in the headset. There was a short delay so we had to turn off TV volume. We downloaded Fruit Ninja first as our first experience. It was pretty fun. Gonna download some more games soon.

Way better choice than the rift s. Here's why

I recently returned my rift s after using it for 3 weeks. I really enjoyed the high quality graphics it offered, except for the ipd adjustment which ultimately ruined my experience with the product. There was also noticable latency in tracking, which was detrimental for my beat saber experience. However, even though i returned it, i still believed that rift s is a better choice because the graphics were amazing for a 400 bucks product. While i'm waiting for my valve index kit to arrive, i saved up an extra 400 to get a quest because i was really interested in trying out the mobile vr. After i tried it, i was totally mindblown. Everything i thought i knew about the quest was wrong, especially the tracking. Since the quest has 4 cameras compared to 5 for rift s, i thought the quest would not be fit for playing competitive games like beat saber expert+. Nope, it was not true at all. Tracking latency is drastically better compared to the rift s, and playing through expert+ is so much smoother with almost zero lag(maybe because it's wireless?). Of course graphics are not good, but it's enough to be playable, which is a dealbreaker for me. Because oculus rift s had so many problems with the tracking cameras(ex. All the cameras suddenly not working), i believed the quest will have a similar issue. Nope, not at all. Played through this thing for more than 5hours straight and no problems. After more than 3 days of use, the software in this thing is almost perfect. INCREDIBLY SMOOTH. And for the Oculus link: Yes, it's pretty similar to the image quality of the original rift, BUT NOT COMPARABLE TO THE RIFT S. You can clearly see distortion looking at far distances. FYI, I'm using rtx2070 super and i7 9700k, and i've optimized the compression curve, pixel density, etc to the highest settings to get the best graphics. Tracking latency increases a lot using the oculus link, so i'd rather play games like beat saber without the link on. I'd say the latency for the oculus link is about the same as rift s. The link is still in beta mode, so there are some software issues such as audio. I have to crank up my computer volume to 100 to actually hear sound from the quest. I also get an error message saying there's no audio signal, when i do actually hear the sound. Using both rift s and quest, I clearly noticed that facebook is trying to kill the rift s. The software is so much better in the quest than the rift s. i've played more than 3days with this thing, and it has caused zero bugs, which is quite shocking compared to the rift s. Rift s was really a pain for me because i've gotten 3 replacements and yet still had the same software bugs and issues every 3hrs of play session. Here's my suggestion about pcvr: if you really want good vr graphics, save that money and get a valve index. Only get the rift s if your on real tight budget, ipd is 63-64mm, and if you dont mind small tracking latency. Also remember that you will encounter tracking errors that suddenly immerse, which oculus support has no means to fix because they're focused on optimizing software for the quest.

I have had PSVR for over a year now and I found myself not playing it as much due to the wires that run from headset to PS4 Pro. The Oculus Quest solves all the PSVR problems. Being able to mark off the safe area makes this system amazing. I play my quest every day. If there was one downfall I would say it is the battery life. If you are playing with friends or family, the 2 hours goes by rather quickly. There is a 3rd party battery pack that I have ordered but am still waiting for it to arrive (delayed). You will not regret this purchase. If you can find one, pick it up!

I have owned gaming systems since they first were a "thing" back in the 70s. Atari, Coleco, Sega, Various Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo systems. I currently have the Switch and Xbox One X. You get the picture. I have been a lifelong gamer. Well, I have had my Quest for 4 weeks now and I can honestly say it's the best of the lot. From the minute you put it on it immerses you in another world. Everything from setting up the play area, to playing through the tutorials is amazing. Oculus has done an amazing job with this product and it has reenergized my enthusiasm for gaming. I am playing more than I have in years!

This unit is 100% ready to go out of the box just like a video game console, and unlike the rift you are completely cordless. Games are designed specifically for quest with it's library containing a large amount of the VR hits- the games available for PC only can be streamed next update via a USB C from your PC in order to play the big high fidelity triple a games, making it very similar to the Oculus rift S with the only down side being 72 hz compared to 80hz. But sacraficing 8 frames for complete portability and multiple oled displays make this the all around best buy for a beginner vr head set.

I had the Oculus Go for a bit, and while that was fun, it was mainly for sitting and viewing media. The oculus quest is on a whole other level. The Good: You can choose to be stationary and use the quest, or you can get up and move around and interact with the virtual environment around you thanks to the 6dof this device offers. The controllers work well, and I found minimal issues with tracking where my hands were. The audio works well enough for me that I don’t think I need to purchase any headphones or earbuds, which you have the ability to do so thanks to two headphone jacks on the sides of the quest. If you want to use it as a pc tethered headset you can do so thanks to Oculus Link. Of the games and apps I have tried, all of them work well, much better than I was expecting to be honest. Also the guardian system is excellent. I didn’t worry too much about hitting anything because the guardian system does a great job knowing and remembering the boundary you drew and alerting you when you get to close. You can even see what’s around you through the headset sensors and it’s accurate enough that I could navigate my apartment just using that (but it’s probably not smart to do that too much). Needs Improvement: I bought controller covers to offer better grip, and to keep the lid from the battery compartment from coming off (it can come detached if playing a game like beat saber). The foam piece that the quest has will absorb sweat if you are playing an active game, so I would buy a cover that you can easily wipe down after each play that isn’t absorbent like foam. The headpiece is front heavy, so after a while you might need to take a break and rest your neck, but I’ve heard people counterbalance that weight by attaching something to the back of the headset. Neutral: The apps can be pricey, but the quest is a first generation device and the developers didn’t know if the quest would even be popular (which it is judging by the effort it took me to find a headset in stock without paying way more than it is worth) so that is to be expected. Also the battery isn’t great (about 2-3 hours depending on what you are playing), but I already have a mobile battery pack that essentially eliminates this problem by allowing me to charge while playing. Of course this review may not line up with others’ experience, but it is my experience with my quest the last couple days. Overall, for the price, what you are getting is just amazing. This tech has only been out for a few years, so to see something like this already on the market makes me excited to see where the future of VR is headed in the coming decade.
