The Way VR Should Be Experienced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus Quest is a promising step forward for VR technology. The untethered no cord device really changes the VR experience. I own the PSVR and I do not believe I will ever use that set ever again. The tracking is so much better on the Quest than my PSVR. I have not noticed any screen door effect either. I am easily prone to motion sickness so I do not try and play everything but with all that I have played, I have not felt any sickness. The speakers on the device are not bad but definitely recommend headphones to help with immersion. The only 2 complaints I have is the weight of the Quest when compared to my PSVR. It is much heavier than the PSVR and does get uncomfortable with long gaming sessions. The other complaint is the delay in visual and sound when casting for others to view on a TV can be distracting and not all games can be cast for some reason. **Tip** In order for Chromecast to work so you can cast onto a TV, you will need gen 3 Chromecast.

Great fun! The future is here!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a PSVR but I wanted to try Oculus' version of VR. One thing I really love is that the Quest is wireless, unlike PSVR. The resolution is a slight improvement over PSVR. There are also cameras on the unit itself, which tracks your movement very well. It takes a little getting used to the front-loaded weight of the Quest, but once I got the hang of it, it was never an issue. I must say I'm really enjoying the Quest, and I love the Darth Vader games that came free with the holiday bundle. I would say if you have some disposable income, then this is a fun toy to have. One last thing, 64GB was the last one they had in my store, which is unfortunately, because I would have sprung for the 128GB if it was available. If you have the choice, I would go with the bigger one because hard drive space goes quickly on this thing. A few games and apps will fill up the drive really quickly.

This is the VR you're looking for
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a Vive owner also. I was so excited to get the Vive. I built a computer, tweaked drivers, tweaked settings, mounted the position sensors, keep everything updated every month or so, do all the troubleshooting... It's awesome but a lot of work. The quest is fire and forget. Almost everything just works. It's the Nintendo Switch of VR. Now with Oculus Link and hand tracking, it can replace the desktop headsets like the Vive with added functionality. It's perfect for travel or home use. Even in a new house it's a snap to set up. It's so intuitive you can hand it to anyone familiar with gaming and they can figure out the setup. This is the VR headset you want. Visuals: screen quality is good, but you will be able to discern pixels. It's better resolution than the Vive, but only marginally. Graphics on the Quest games are obviously not as good as headsets connected to a desktop gaming PC, but they are still immersive. You won't notice a difference in games with simple graphics like beat saber or superhot. You can cast/mirror to your phone or chromecast. Setup: Setup is easy and the app walks you through it. It let's you set up either a standing play space or a seated stationary play space. It will recognize play spaces you've set up before, and if you go to a new place setting up the boundary takes seconds. Ecosystem: much easier and more user friendly than Vive or SteamVR. Games variety is good, but pricier per game cost than SteamVR. Many games support cross buy, so if you buy the Quest version you automatically get the desktop oculus version as well. Device: comfortable for an hour or two, very adjustable and secure. It will leave a raccoon eyes imprint after long use. A little more front heavy than other headsets but not terrible. Well designed and looks nice, a lot of fabric coverings, no rattling plastic parts. Battery life is solid, about 2 hours. Plug it in to a battery pack in your pocket and play all day. Controllers are comfortable. Tracking is good, probably 95% as good as the vive, which was near perfect. Occasional lag or delayed pickup of initial tracking. Just buy this.

Amazing with a few quirks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from an Rift and a Go I have been waiting for a real cordless solution. Oculus Quest nails it. Pros - screen is such an improvement over rift - portable (duh) - some games have cross buy purchase support but it’s game by game (developers choice) - excellent tracking for not have additional cameras aside from what’s on the headset - peek through invisible fence feature very cool Cons - sound is terrible but you can use headphones plugged into either side - does not support Bluetooth headphone to eliminate wires - little clunky on the front end but you get used to it - expensive - graphics are not as good as Rift games which are PC powered (no surprise) - multiplayer games are far and few between and hopefully that will change - headset battery life is mediocre. Maybe an hour of game play - some games like Beat Saber seemingly raised their prices once Quest was released and does not support cross buy. Which means I’d have to buy it again and for $10 more than what I originally paid. That was the nail in the coffin for me to return it. Apparent greed like that drives me nuts. Happy for people to make money and charge for their efforts to re-create their content on a new platform but to gouge people because they have a hot game is terrible to me. Especially since I was an early supporter of their development when it was just an inferior beta. Overall if I didn’t own a Rift I would have kept it but I can live with the wires a few more years until the graphics catch up, prices come down and the game library equalizes.

Outstanding
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I want to mention that I've owned multiple VR systems: CV1, Rift S, Valve Index, and HTC Vive Pro. Out of all those I've enjoyed the Quest the most save for Lone Echo on the first Rift. It has it's shortcoming: more noticable screen door effect, godrays, limitations of a Snapdragon 835 chipset vs dedicated PC hardware, etc, but the fact it's completely wireless, very simple to use, and no external sensor setup makes it all worth it. Some games ported to the Quest from Rift look pretty close to the same (Thrill of The Fight), but others, like Arizona Sunshine, look pretty bad in comparison, but gameplay is essentially the same. Either way, the Quest is a device the whole family will likely enjoy.

Full fledged VR - in a simple & elegant solution
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works even better than expected! Having tried the original HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and various simpler smartphone-based VR, I was expecting the quest to fall somewhere in-between what a smartphone can provide and early PC driven solutions. However, the Quest's tracking and responsiveness is on par with the best I've tried and the graphics quality, while not as good as PC-VR, is quite good - better than expected actually. The added benefit of it being a completely wireless setup, makes the experience all the better. The negative aspects are few. The only real issues I've had, is that the 2½hour battery life could be a bit longer and the headset can be a bit heavy to wear for longer sessions.

The Future of VR is Here
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.VR was never meant to be a tethered experience. The ability to move freely within a space physically and digitally is hampered when you have a wire hanging off of you. The feeling of freedom the Quest provides cannot be overstated. Combine that with impressive inside-out aka no external sensors tracking, great feeling controllers and graphic fidelity that is far closer to PC VR than you would think and you have a winner. If you find one...buy one and get a taste of the future.

Great Stand-alone Headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Oculus Quest is great and awesome. You don't need a gaming PC to play great games. It has a good selection of games but I wish there were more. Its capable of tracking every movement using the front cameras making the Quest much funner than the Go. The controllers are simple and lightweight. The controllers require AA batteries so I recommend getting rechargeable batteries. It's also kinda heavy on the front so I recommend getting some cheap accessories. Overall, it's a great VR headset if you're starting out.

BLOWS MY MIND EVERY DAY
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little device blows my away every single day. The craziest thing is that it came out a year ago! I didn't even know about it until this year, but it does not disappoint even in 2020. This little guy may be the underdog when it comes to vr headsets, but I would choose it over ANY other headset, VIVE and INDEX included. I'll tell you why. This is the only headset currently (to my knowledge) that is stand alone out of the box. That means you don't have to buy a $1000+ gaming computer. Also, the headset itself is significantly more affordable at $399 compared to $700-$1000 for other headsets. Now if you are someone who wants to be able to use steam vr, since Oculus is somewhat limited in game selection, YOU CAN! Just download Virtual Desktop from the Oculus store, follow a few set up steps (not easy but not too hard either if you have an hour) and boom, you can drop in and out of steam vr WIRELESSLY. And as an added bonus, you can control your desktop wirelessly for work/school easily. I am currently playing Half-Life Alyx wirelessly from a ROG Zephyrus G14 with little to now issues. It looks stunning and is the best game I have ever played overall. The only complaints I have about this device are the occasional bugs that occur, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a quick reset. This device does not disappoint!

Excellent user experience With This System
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The materials use in the manufacture of this system feel to be high quality. It is easy to set up and use. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes. The graphics are excellent. The game play is fun and challenging. The surround sound audio within the headset combined with the wide field of view make for a very immersive experience. I think the controllers could use some improvement. My hands are medium sized and I find that I inadvertanly touch buttons on the controllers that pause game play unintentionally. This can be really annoying. I've tried to hold the controllers in a less than natural way in order to avoid this but that makes using them uncomfortable. Playing with no wires though has been great! Battery life has been approximately three hours before needing to recharge.

VR w/o wires and base stations is so liberating
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how easy it is to pull out the quest and just play some games on it. The lack of wires means that I can swing my arms and move about without any fear of getting tangled up. The built in tracking means that I can play in any open space without having to setup base stations or have a high-powered computer sitting nearby. The game selection is a bit limited right now compared to the Rift, but there are plenty of fun things to do.

Its almost the best headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box it is a grate VR experience. Though it is a little front heavy, adding a battery pack on the back evens it out. Also even with the add spacer for glasses it will still rub against the lenses. Though looking on Etsy and getting some replacement rings does make it the best VR experience. The room scale tracking and wireless headset is a step in the right direction even if it does come at a loss in graphics, though not by much. But with side quest and remote desktop you can get into a hole new market, making that a none issue. Though if you don't like to mod you can use the cable in the box to play Rift games as long as you have a VR ready computer.

Awesome VR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my son as a 12th birthday present. He LOVES it! His only complaint is that he can't wait for FNAF Help Wanted to release for Quest. It is a little front heavy but we just attach a large beanbag to the back when it starts bothering him. The other thing is that if the sensor is blocked it will turn on by itself. We have foamies that we put in to prevent any damage to the screen. This of course blocks the sensor. To fix it we just cut a little dip where the sensor is. Seems to have fixed that problem. The controllers go through batteries fast but I think it's because they turn on from movement and then shut off automatically. So you could try taking the batteries out in between uses. My kid seems to think that's too much hassle so I'm just getting a few good rechargeables and moving on. It is a lot of fun and we love that it's not anchored to the computer. We've taken several places and it's been a lot of fun passing around to play. Plus you can cast to your phone or chromecast so everyone can see what you see inside the game. Not to mention my kid is up and moving with it instead of sitting and only moving his thumbs. Win Win

portable vr, uhhh heck yeah
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this thing. great quality and good expanding library. now compatible to link to a vr ready pc. works well with oculus pc app and steam vr. by itself the graphics are great especially for a starter headset. portability is great for vr and the headset can be finicky here or there but for what it's worth it accomplished what it set out for and is impressive.

Awesome VR Experience
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having my Quest for several months now, I have to say that I am very pleased with it. The all in one capabilities has allowed me to share the VR experience with friends and family, even when away from home. The headset is a little bit front heavy, but this can easily be fixed by adding just a little bit of counter weight to the back. Everything else about the headset is excellent from build quality, to screen quality, to overall immersion. Plus as an added bonus if you have a gaming pc, you can plug it into your pc for a full power VR experience with Oculus Link (note that the cable included with the headset will unfortunately not work for Link). I currently use my Oculus Quest with my recently completed gaming PC to play games like Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally with a Thrustmaster racing wheel and the experience is incredible. To say the least, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend this headset since it can do it all from standalone VR to PC VR if you have a powerful enough gaming PC.

Amazing Device!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think VR hasn’t been able to become that popular due to the fact that you need a powerful enough pc to run a PC based headset, but this changes it. Even though it isn’t as powerful as any VR PC it is still extremely easy to use, and loads of fun to play!

Life Changing VR Experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Could the head strap be more comfortable and better designed? YES Could the field of view be a little larger? YES Could the weight be a little better distributed so it doesn't feel so front-heavy? GOD YES. Could it have a slightly faster processer and could Oculus PC link work a little better? Yes. So why is this a Five Star review? Because in the end none of that really matters. This is a game-changing device. There is nothing else on the market like the Quest, for that reason alone it gets 5 stars. Putting it on it feels like the dream of VR is finally fufilled. I have other VR headsets, but because the quest is wireless its the one I reach for every day. I play games on it sure but it also changed my physical fitness during the quarantine. I've been losing weight and enjoying my time working out with this device. And using Virtual Desktop I played through all of Half-Life Alyx wirelessly which has been an incredible experience. Are there complaints that hopefully be fixed in a Quest 2.0? Absolutely. Is the current quest worth every penny? 100% it is.

Lucid Dream Simulation Machine. 10/10 won't regret
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this 99% of the time with quest link which turns this into an oculus rift with a bit more portability while sacrificing movement detection. I think this thing is amazing, I've used one before and I've been sitting on the idea of grabbing a vr system for a year before hearing about how cool the quest is. Video quality is 9/10 Tracking is 8/10 Setup is easy Medium portablility A good PC is recommended to get the most out of this magical hardware. I have a 2070 with a Ryzen 5 and only have minor issues in games like HL: Alyx. Prepare for a great time. I showed my mom Google earth and she was in awe playing for 2 hours flying around the world. Be careful about hitting walls and get the protection plan so you don't clench your toes everytime you punch your desk or your oblivious dog who's laying in the middle of the room while you flail around looking like you're sleepwalking in a nightmare. Some enjoyable games I've played: Half Life: Alyx, Swords and Sourcery, Gorn, Beat Saber, and Robo recall. Tires you out. Lazy gamers beware.

Groundbreaking VR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m in love with my quest. It’s not perfect: there is some screen door effect and tracking struggles on occasion (tho I hear an update is on the way for that). It’s not as powerful as some of the other units, but the untethered nature of this device brings VR alive like no other. I love how immersive it is. I sometimes forget I’m in a room as I’m walking around but then the amazing guardian system kicks in to remind me of my actual reality. It’s lack of wires also makes it very portable which is a big win. I take mine on every trip now if I think there will be any time to play. I’ve played other headsets that are computer tethered and they are great. Nothing compares to the freedom of wireless!
