In order to use the rift + touch experience you need 2 for the sensors and one for the headset. An optional 3rd sensor can be added for $60 extra, but is only necessary in larger play spaces. They claim to be able to work on USB 2.0, but in my experience if they are not all plugged into full USB 3.0 compliant ports that get full 3.0 bandwidth (some hubs may be problematic) you will experience lag or have the setup software tell you it won’t work.

Please try again later.you only need 2 usb3.0(blue) slots, one for the headset and one for one of the sensors. and a usb2.0 for the other sensor. i recommend making sure the usb 3.0 that you will be using for the headset is near an hdmi slot, as the cords for the two are bundled in one, and split off very close to the end. i also recommend getting a third sensor at some point if you want greater detection; less lag and banding when facing away from the original 2 sensors
