“Hi. Just bought an ONKYO TX-SR393. Connected to my TV so far, the volume level that start listening is around 40. At 55 is a low regular voume. Is it normal ? My speakers are PolkAudio 4 ohm impedance. Radio is not working I even hear white noise.”

On all the Onkyo receivers I have owned, including this model, you have to turn the sound up into the 40-50 range for normal listening levels, so yes it is normal. Regarding radio have you ruled out bad reception?
