“What type/kind of plug do I use for the sub out? I connected a rca cable with strip wire at the end to connect to my existing subwoofers (Sony and RCA) and both not getting any output. I dont want to buy another sub with RCA jack in it just to test.”

RCA connects to RCA...stripped wires go to speaker terminals or binding posts, either one or the other, not combined. If your receiver does not have rca out for the sub, use the record-out. If the sub does not have rca plugs, connect the input wires parallel to your front speakers.
