- Answer You can do basic setup using the units front display. You push the * button on remote and then select the settings you wish to change.

QuestionWe bought this receiver but we do not want to hookup to TV. We want set up instructions for connecting to just CD player and tuner . Bypass the TV connections.There were no instructions in box. It told us to get instructions from TV .

Just search on the Model number TX-SR393 https://www.onkyousa.com/downloads/ You should easily be able to connect your CD player to the receiver with either an HDMI cable or component cables. No TV is needed. Enjoy!

QuestionIf I hook up two headphones to this receiver, do I use the "Phones" plug in the front? Does plugging in to the "Phones" output over ride the speakers (mute them)? Is there another way to get audio out for the headphones?

- Answer From the manual: "• While headphones are connected to the PHONES jack, no sound is output from the speakers." There IS a "Line Out" L/R RCA out.

QuestionI have 2 Bose outdoor speakers I'd like to add as the Zone B speakers. It looks like the Zone B out on the receiver is a single red/white RCA cable. How do I hook up 2 wired cable speakers to this RCA output? Does it require another amp?

- Answer If you use RCA Zone B output jacks on any receiver you would need an additional amp to drive the speakers no matter Bose or not. That would be your best option if their is a need to control volume separately on both inside and outside speakers.

QuestionI don't have a subwoofer with a preamp, but I use two big stereo speakers as the front channels. So - can these front channel outputs power regular stereo speakers, and do they output low enough frequencies to give me decent bass on these speakers?

- Answer Yes. You need a HDMI cord from television to the receiver to get sound back to the receiver and use the ARC HDMI and press the TV button on the receiver.
