Hello ptbuzzcut, The TXSR494 usb is for power supply of a streaming device or to perform firmware updates. However, when it comes to the power supply, it would be suggested to check the streaming devices amp/voltage before connecting to the receivers usb power supply. If the usb is not powerful enough for the device then it would be recommend to the use the power adaptor for the streaming device to work properly. Thank you Onkyo
