A:AnswerIf you have an old fashioned, twisted pair phone line you would first want to disconnect at the network interface into the house. It would often be in a gray box outside - two wire from the street into a little connection point. Be sure bare wires are protected. Newer - since the 90s - the connection may have a click connector to the house and you might be able to disconnect that. Once disconnected from the street, simply plug the Ooma out connection into any jack in your house. That will cause all the other jacks to carry your Ooma dial tone.
If you had cable phone service, you basically replace the phone service modem with Ooma. Whatever phone cable was plugged into the modem, plug it into Ooma.
A:AnswerMine has to be plugged into my internet router using an ethernet cable. I think you could buy a range extender from Best Buy with an ethernet plug to connect Ooma. I had to do something similar to use my MyQ hub for my garage door opener. You would need the password of the internet to set up the extender.
A:AnswerFrom Ooma faqs…
The Ooma system can be used anywhere there is a high-speed Internet connection. Regardless of where you use it, calls to the US will be free and calls outside the US will be subject to low-cost international rates. If you plan to use the device overseas, be sure to use a phone that meets US standards, and be aware that the power supply that comes with the Ooma Hub is built for US power specifications. Also, if you choose to install and use the Ooma system outside the US, you’ll be solely responsible for compliance with international laws and subject to all associated fees, taxes, tariffs, and legal penalties.
A:AnswerFrom Ooma support they have a. Decent tutorial and setup guide to fax and call from the same line on the Telo (using an rj45 splitter) and a code *99 before faxing so it knows to optimize call for fax

A:AnswerI don’t know about Genie but I definitely recommend the Ooma phone system. You can’t beat the price.
If you make out of country calls however it will be an additional cost. I personally like having a landline as I don’t want my cell phone used except for friends and family and certain kind of business transactions only
A:AnswerWe have Spectrum internet -- 500Mbps. We continually experience "robot voice" and choppy communication. I complained to Ooma -- I was told to contact Spectrum. I don't believe that Spectrum will help, since Spectrum offers its own home phone service. I'm planning on dropping Ooma in May when I have to renew. You can't beat Ooma's price for its features; but, the call quality leaves much to be desired, IMHO.
