I can't confirm whether the HDMI audio out is HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 but I can tell you that for audio only it doesn't matter. The UB820 will pass all audio formats out it's HDMI audio port. What you don't get out the HDMI audio port, if you use it as a second Audio/Video HDMI out, is 4K video, so most likely the audio HDMI out port is only HDMI 1.4. Since your Marantz is HDMI 1.4 it won't pass 4K video anyway so you're not missing anything in regards to your current equipment's capabilities. I'm currently using the UB820's Audio out HDMI to send audio only to a Marantz AV7005 pre-amp which only has HDMI 1.4 inputs as well. I connect the Video HDMI out directly to my TV for 4K HDR. I'm not ready to jump to Dobly Atmos sound so with this setup I get the full video benefit of 4K HDR video to my TV and get Dolby HD and DTS Master audio thru my Marantz. So, you're not "missing" anything because your Marantz will still process all the formats it's capable of.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The output is hdmi 2.0, you could lose atmos and dts x. Hope that helps. It's a fantastic player though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s a hdmi 2.0. I don’t think 1.4 does atmos. I don’t even no if it does 4K at 30fps. I would 100% run it to your tv and use arc input on tb for reviever.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Marantz HDMI input must be ARC compatible. Check the Marantz manual. If you don't see "ARC," it won't work.
