“Is the remote using Bluetooth or infrared? I need to put player in closet and still be able to use remote to control it like PS4.”

The remote is IR based. Setup an IR Blaster solution into the closet with a sensor outside, or, invest in a Harmony setup that can have multiple options for setups like this.
