Yes. It will auto play a DV encoded disc in DV but only if you have DV turned ON in the player settings. If DV is set to OFF, it will play the disc in HDR.

Yes. It does automatically play the movie in Dolby Vision if the movie supports it, as long as you have DV set to "ON" in the player setup menu. You can not switch between HDR and DV on the fly when watching a movie which stinks. DV takes priority over HDR on the player. You don't have to go into the menu to switch itto "OFF" if you're playing a non DV disc.

100 percent automically switches to dolby vision when available and enabled (you have to update the player and then tell the player your tv can accept dolby vision) and then it automatically goes to DV when available on disc

The UB820, unlike the Sony X700, does auto-sense if a movie is in Dolby Vision. Since all Dolby Vision discs also have the HDR10 version, DV will always be the default unless it is turned off manually.
