Just got this player but on other sites including Panasonic it says preorder for ub-820-k with a ship date of January-February and it says New next to it. Is there a new version coming out or is this the same model as this has been out for a while. null

It's the same model. There hasn't been enough stock to go around, so Best Buy just sold out. The preorder is for the next batch of stock from Panasonic.

Been out a little while the first ones did not have Dolby vision, had to upload it later, the newer ones have it already.

This is the newest model Panasonic has and the only other one with the same video performance is the UB9000 which adds upgraded audio circuits and separate power supplies. The UB820 and UB9000 both have the same exact video processing and are the latest 4K players from Panasonic.
