Hi funrider, The dashcam needs to be plugged into an appropriate power source at all times you'd like it to function. If your vehicle's cigarette lighter ports do not stay live after powering down the vehicle you will either need to power it via hardwire kit or power bank. The recording time is dependent on the dashcam's settings and the size of the micro SD card that you are using. The cost of installation is dependent on where you get it installed. The dashcam should work fine with your vehicle.
