• If you have the second generation of the Echo Plus, then yes you can just start to buy light bulbs as the second generation has built in hub for all kinds of smart home devices.

• I noticed the Philip bulb works better with Siri (iPhone) so it will require the Philip hub .

• Yeah you need to buy the Philips Hue hub and then download the Philips app in the apple app store.
