As far as I know you'll need the Philips Hue hub

You need the Philips Hue Bridge. I'd recommend getting one of the starter kits. If you just want the white bulbs, it's only $69ish to get started with the bridge and 2 bulbs. I bought that and this 4 pack and it's awesome - especially the fact that I can use both Siri and Alexa to control the lights.

Yes. You need the Phillips Hue device to connect to your modem. There is a Hue app to download. Once activated Alexa can control your lights.

You will need the Philips hub which connects directly to your router. I recommend buying the starter pack which comes with bulbs. The Amazon echo dot is also nice to have to control the bulbs.
