They DO NOT need a bridge to work. The bridge more allows you functionality. You'd likely want the bridge if you wanted to add the bulbs to an automation sequence (turn bulbs on when you pull in the driveway, turn on/off at a certain time) or to adjust the brightness. The starter kits are not necessarily cheap, but they do come with a bridge (make sure you buy the Hue Bridge 2.0). I think if you bought the starter kit and installed it, you would not look back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A bridge is needed to control these bulbs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you need bridge. Starter kit may be best buy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you need the bridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need a bridge if these two bulbs are your first HUE purchase. One bridge is an excellent investment. A starter kit is a great way to be introduced to the beauty of custom lighting. Caution: highly addictive to have mood lighting in every room/space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Youll need the bridge. The starter kit is a good way to get into it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you need the Hue hub if you want to take advantage of all the bulb’s features, but once you have the hub it is easy to add other Philips Hue lights.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will need a bridge. Fortunately you only need one should you choose to add more lights in the future. And you likely will; they are great!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you don’t get the bridge for the lights they only work like a regular light on a switch. You an only control them with a device if you have the bridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, all hue bulbs connect to the hub. Up to 50 bulbs can connect to a single hub. This helps keep the number of devices attached to your network down. If you don’t have a hub, I would recommend buying the kit first as you basically get the hub for free.
