QuestionIs the wall switch always in the On position with this or any other HUE bulb?

- Answer The lights must have power going to them to be operational. If you want to control them from your phone app, then you would leave the wall switch in the "On" position all the time. However, you can use the wall switch to turn the lights on and off if you like. We do it both ways.

QuestionWith these being Philips Hue lights, do you have to have a bridge for these to work? These would be the first two light bulbs that I have purchased and wanted to see if I need to buy a bridge, or if I am better off purchasing a starter kit first?

- Answer They DO NOT need a bridge to work. The bridge more allows you functionality. You'd likely want the bridge if you wanted to add the bulbs to an automation sequence (turn bulbs on when you pull in the driveway, turn on/off at a certain time) or to adjust the brightness. The starter kits are not necessarily cheap, but they do come with a bridge (make sure you buy the Hue Bridge 2.0). I think if you bought the starter kit and installed it, you would not look back.

- Answer These are a PAR-38. The 'PAR' part of the size refers to the size of the bulb; the size of the base (the part that screws into the light socket) is the same as a standard light socket.

- Answer These are outdoor bulbs, but I actually use them indoors in a lamp, since they are brighter than the standard A19 Hue bulbs. The 'PAR' part just refers to the size of the bulb itself. The bulb base (the part that screws into the light socket) is the same as a standard light bulb. Since these bulbs are LED, they do not produce the heat that you find with a regular incandescent bulb, so use in recessed lighting would be absolutely fine.

- Answer These lights do that by using the Hue App - you can set them to go on and off at whatever time you wish or with sunset, etc

- Answer Hi, are you trying to have full control? I read online that the Vivint system can only be used to turn them on/off. But the color temp and everything else with the bulb can only be done with the Hue app and requires the Hue bridge. Hope this helps

- Answer No. But if you program them, they can be. Require hub for Phillips lights. Also, possibly the fixture you install it in could have a photocell attached or integrated. Then it becomes dusk to dawn. (its not built in to the bulb.) Hope this helps. just received question 3/11!

- Answer Yes, The Philips Hue Lights work off of zigbee and depending on what model Amazon show you have it should have a built in Zigbee hub to where you dont need to buy the Philips hue hub. To pair the lights to your Amazon Show open your Alexa app on your smartphone then go to the Devices tab. then at the top corner of the screen you should see a plus button, tap that and then you should see an option that says "Add Device". go ahead and tap that then tap light. Scroll down to the brand "Philips Hue" and then tap Discover Devices. Then your Amazon Show should find the lights. if not then you will need to purchase the Philips Hue Hub.
