“My car radio has stop connection to my phone. If I replace the radio with this unit will it connect to a phone to make and receive calls or does it need the modular that is behind the OEM radio to work”

This will work, comes with external microphone for Bluetooth calls. (It bypasses factory system and replaces with it's own)
