“How does alexa work on this unit? Is it powered by car play/android auto? Assuming im connected via android auto can I just announce 'alexa tell me the weather'?”

Amazon Alexa is it's own source. You would need to go through the Weblink application to select Pioneer Vozsis. If needed, please contact our Product Support at 1-800-421-1404 select option # 1. They will walk you through the setup.
